Anyone have any experience with interfacing radio's with a GPS
I bought a Uniden UM525and am trying to make it work with a Garmin 188 plotter/sounder and I am having difficulty as the wires on both do not match up in color or description.
Here is what the GPS has for NMEA 0183
Blue=NMEA out com 1 tx
brown=NMEA in com 1 rx
green=com2 rx
white=com 2 tx
Now here is where it gets interesting. On the radio I have these...
orange=nmea0183 out -
yellow=nmea0183 in -
green=nmea0183 out+
white=nmea0183 in+
I thought I had enough foresight to ask if this radio would work with this GPS...and I think jim said it was...but now I am stumped!
