Just got the call from my partner that the port shaft sheared off about an 1 1/2" behind the strut, taking the prop with it. They did not hit anything they were in 15' of water, there has been no vibration whatsoever. Boat is a 98', how do you tell if a shaft is fatigued? Is this a freak thing? What causes this?
