Food fr thought!
Very promising as i'm down this weekend for a couple of days. Never fished the pier but might try it. Thought all the soles had been scooped up by the Shrimpers! Glad you were kept busy and not snoozing in the sun and getting sunburnt!

Sunburn in Lowstoft?????
Naw, can't be true! This is the place where i've had the wind blow my sinkers back in my face, where four or five layers don't keep out the cold and all my bait stays frozen. And that's August!! Seriously though i'm glad to hear about your precautions viz a vee the sunbloc. My reason for going to Lowestoft this time is a relation, younger than me, with a nasty Melanoma. Makes you pause for thought.
Mind you the penny has just dropped! It's your Sunbloc! Must have some sort of fish attractant in it! Must be that one with Pilchard oil in the ingredients! Your missus knows what she's doing - only fish will come near you with that stuff plastered on so she can trust you when away from home!!!

Ady- there was a restriction bar and dont know the height but there was apeople crrier on the pier last week so dont think it is a problem. 24hour free parking and fish out the back of you van. Seaward side is snaggy from the pole lights to the end of the pier and in the river side close to the harbour entrance piers. Best bait lug or rag and if you have one take a crab trap and put some oily fish in for bait you may have a pleasant surprise. I tend to fish 20 yards just before the lights or in the harbour entrance. Species this time of the year are codling, whiting, pouting, eels, a few early soles and dogfish pups. Tight lines
