Consider that if you're running both outboards from a single fuel tank, fuel issues will stop both of them. And if you're having electrical problems, you won't be able to start either of them.
Great minds think alike. We wrote that at the same time. |

Whatever has happened in your life to make you so ill natured and mean? What did I write that made you respond this way? I don't understand the vitriolic nature of your post. I wasn't aiming to offend or upset anyone. If I have, my apologies. |

Location: Gulf of Mexico,Louisiana | Twin outboards over single inboards is like comparing apples to grapes! The boats in itself will act complety different. Now twin outboards, faster, fuel burns are alot better then they were 5 years ago were a boat that weights 8,000lbs can get a burn rate of 17 gph at 35mph cruise. How many single diesels will do that?Another question is,how often will one use said boat?Cost wise, twin o/b is about the same as a single i/b diesel.Maintence will be a little more on the O/B motors.
Inboard single, without a bow thruster, the boat is hard to handle in close quarters with wind. They have a clean transom. It is a bit-h to do any work down in the hole at sea on inboard boats, but you can do it were as outboards you can't.
So,comparing the two boats,one can't! |

| Thanks again for all the posts. I don't see many people doubting the fact that a single diesel inboard is a really reliable operation.
At any rate, I'm moving up from a single gas outboard and am really looking forward to it.
Thanks again to all the THTers for the insight.

I could sleep two more people, one on each side of my inboard diesel, if I put cushions down there.
